Davies Materials and Tools Limited is a Leicester based company which supplies building and landscape materials to both trade and individual customers. We also we are one of the main suppliers of bottled gas in Leicester and Leicestershire area.

We offer a collection or delivery option which aims to give an efficient service to suite your needs, supplying quality products at a reasonable price, when and wherever they are needed.

The four members of our staff team have over 120 years combined experience of working within the building trade and are able to give advice according to individual customer needs and requirements. We offer a same day delivery service on most of our products, with the ability to deliver materials either by tipper truck or crane offload.

The business is a family run independent company at present being run by the forth generation of the Davies family. Gary, Lynne and Michael are the three Davies' who now work within the company. The business began in 1919 as a contractor in the building trade, moving to supply and retail in the 1950's. The business has been based in the Highfields area of central Leicester for all of its existence. St. Peter's Road, Hamilton Street, William Street, Jarrom Street and Biddulp have have all been previous trading addresses of what was until 1975, Davies Hardware. In 1975 the business became a limited company, Davies Materials and Tools Ltd. It now trades from its retail depots on Halsbury Street and Devana Road, and its storage depot on Kimberley Road.

The business, known locally as "Davies", prides itself in trying to deal ethically and ecologically in its purchase and supply of all of its products. As far as is practically possible it deals with local products and suppliers trying to keep product miles to an absolute minimum.
